Hi, Im Sara Thornburg, PT, DPT, OCS

I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and lifelong advocate for movement, wellness, and an active lifestyle. I completed my undergraduate education at Auburn University and went on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy running, weightlifting, traveling, and spending time outdoors with my three children. I’m also passionate about sports and staying involved in athletic activities, which has given me a personal appreciation for the demands that active individuals place on their bodies.

As a physical therapist, I take a hands-on, individualized approach to care. I enjoy combining manual therapy techniques with functional movement training to help patients understand their bodies, improve how they move, and return to the activities they love. I am also a certified Pilates instructor in both Mat and Reformer Pilates, allowing me to incorporate Pilates-based movement and strengthening into rehabilitation and wellness programs.

My areas of clinical interest and specialty include women’s health, running assessments, injury prevention, return-to-sport rehabilitation, functional movement, and complex musculoskeletal conditions. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, trying to prevent one, returning to a sport or activity, or simply looking to move and feel better, my goal is to provide individualized care that addresses the whole person—not just the diagnosis.

I believe exercise should empower people to move with confidence, build strength, and stay active for life.
